Hey everyone, Maggie here! I'm the newest member of G&P and an interior designer. As we've all turned inward to our own homes over the last few weeks, I know we've all found areas we'd like to tweak and refresh. If your bedroom or bath areas are on your wishlist, this post is for YOU. When it comes to choosing a color palette for bed and bath, nothing says spring like pure bright white. A cozy cotton duvet cover, a luxurious + pretty towel set and textural accent pieces creates a peaceful and relaxing space.
Alpine White Minimalist Duvet Set, White Braided Rope Pillow, Opening Tray, Clear Chroma Glass Pitcher, Clear Chroma Glasses, Large Maiz Basket with Handles
We love the Minimalist duvet sets because they completely eliminate the need for a flat sheet! Hello, easy-to-make bed. When you style an all neutral space, it's always important to add some texture and contrast which is why I went with a woven rope lumbar pillow. I also love one long lumbar on a bed because it's a statement without having 10 fussy pillows to deal with each time you make the bed. Bringing in more of that luxury hotel feel, I added an oak tray to hold anything from water glasses to breakfast in bed. To incorporate more woven textures to the room, I chose this woven throw basket made from...dried corn plant leaves (!). It's also a great way to store towels in the bathroom, throw blankets in the bedroom or even toys to distract the kiddos while mom gets ready.
Alpine White Catalina Towel Set, Medium Maiz Basket with Handles, O Glyph Wall Hook in Straw, Slab Tray in Straw, Georg Oak Table Mirror, Yuzu Lotion, Catch-All 5" Terrazzo, Sea Salt Grapefruit Votive, Yellow Edge Pot
For the bathroom, white towels feel bright and clean. Sculptural concrete hooks are art when they are empty but functional when you need to hang a towel, bag or clothes hanger. The same artist created the gorgeous clay tray that matches the color of the hooks. On the tray I put hand lotion, a terrazzo catch all tray for jewelry etc and a votive candle for ambiance and scent. Behind the tray I included this oak table top mirror. Its the perfect accent for the top of a dresser or table. Use it to put on your earrings or check for any last minute makeup touch-ups before you run out the door. Lastly I included this tan/cream colored planter as an accent piece to hold a small green plant.
If spending this extra time at home has you looking around you house thinking it needs a little change, the bed/bathroom is a great place to start. Whether its as small as a new catchall tray for your nicknacks or as large as new bedding, even a single change can bring new life to your space!
